Hear From Our Members

Megan Wenrich
VP of Development at Breakthrough Energy

“What excited me most about Climate Vine was the opportunity to connect with people not on my radar given its incredibly diverse community. I’ve worked in this space for over two decades and have seen so many incredibly talented people enter the space over the past 5 years. Climate Vine is a choose your own adventure sort of community that creates the sort of collaborations that help us advance our best ideas. Some people attend peer groups weekly, truly drink from a firehose and build huge networks, and others are more calculated and come with specific goals. I think there’s something for everyone. The community, leadership and operations will welcome you with open arms wherever you are.”

Brahm Rhodes
General Partner at Malaika Ventures

“Climate Vine is a catalyst whether you are transitioning to climate or already working in the field. I have a deep network in the venture ecosystem, but the climate ecosystem is much broader, and Climate Vine offers an incredible community that has become a cornerstone of my experience. The membership has been instrumental in broadening my horizons, deepening my understanding, and accelerating my efforts to support founders in building innovative solutions to the climate challenge. For example, I've been fortunate to collaborate on a meaningful project with a peer I met here, and I will continue to support their accelerator program. I highly recommend joining.”

Federico Perez
Founder & CEO at Selvitas

“Climate Vine has been a game-changer for my early-stage company, providing unparalleled opportunities to connect both online and in-person with relevant people from around the world. The platform has bolstered our growth and propelled my participation at global events such as COP28. The network is incredible, fostering not only professional collaborations but also meaningful friendships. I am extremely grateful for Climate Vine and highly recommend it to anyone working in the climate space.”

Jamesine Rogers Gibson
Senior Advanced Projects Advisor at Bay Area Air Quality Management District

“As someone who’s spent 20+ years in the public and non-profit worlds advancing climate policies and strategies, I was excited to join Climate Vine. Candice curated connections with founders, funders, and CFOs (and excellent speakers too!) that deepened my understanding of the business case for climate action and potential areas for public-private partnerships. In turn, I was able to share my perspective of what’s needed on-the-ground to accelerate equitable action. The relationships I’ve built through Climate Vine are invaluable and inspiring (I’ve even become a mentor to one of their accelerators) and I’m so grateful for this community.”

Jesse Link
Advisor

"Climate Vine is a breeding ground for inspiration, knowledge, empathy and action. The network of members, speakers, resources is so impressive and full it's almost intimidating, in all the ways you'd want. I entered Climate Vine because I knew one thing for sure - in my next career (and life) move, I wanted to throw myself head first into something bigger than myself. What Candice has built at CV has offered an unparalleled foundation for me act on diving in headfirst."

Rebecca Foster
CEO of VEIC

“Since joining Climate Vine, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my network and perspective about the many facets of climate work. Having spent nearly 25 years working in clean energy, I’ve found Climate Vine’s extensive programming on all aspects of climate change mitigation and adaptation fascinating. This is a unique space for experienced professionals to come together, expand our perspectives, and collaborate.”

Peter Olivier
Cofounder at Arc

"Climate Vine has been an ideal place for me to connect with climate people that are sharp in all the right ways: unique viewpoints from badasses just applying their skills to climate for the first time, industry vets who know the ropes (and can kindly share, what, for the love of god, not to do), investors who genuinely care about the planet, fellow travelers looking to team up. More powerful, perhaps than the skills on offer, is the "future mafia" vibe and genuine kindness of the community."

Ed Zschau
Partner at Parker Remick

"Climate Vine has been a wonderful resource for learning from and connecting with people in the climate arena. Climate Vine provides access to content for people who want to go deep in a particular sector or graze more broadly across a variety of topics. I've gained a lot from attending speaker events. Some of the member-led discussions have been invaluable. Outside of the programming, I've met some great people through Climate Vine. Candice has built Climate Vine to give people a pathway to broaden their knowledge, network, and opportunities to make an impact. 10 out of 10 experience."

David Hershberg
Director of Paretnerships at D-tree International

“I have found in Climate Vine an incredible community of thinkers and doers working on literally every aspect of the climate crisis, from deep climate tech, to policy, to carbon markets and financing. Engaging with this community has been instrumental in helping me gain a broad overview of the challenges we face and possible solutions, and perhaps even more importantly, has helped restore my optimism for the future. Hats off to Candice and the team for the care and dedication they have put into curating this community. I highly recommend joining!”

Adam Boyd
Electrical Engineer

"Climate Vine has provided me with a curated space to explore, share, and collaborate on climate advancements at a depth that’s unmatched elsewhere. The focus on building an equitable and balanced community enabled me to build more fruitful and lasting connections. These higher quality connections helped me quickly identify core audiences and opportunities to share advancements from my field. Over the past year, this experience culminated in the launch of a new project (one I’d been ideating for years) with follow-ons planned, while also connecting the larger community to excellent funding opportunities I couldn’t utilize myself."

Lynn Booth
Principal at GS Consulting

“Climate Vine has been a rewarding professional and personal experience. The Climate Vine curriculum included presentations by renowned experts from the entire climate ecosystem; an opportunity to obtain peer group review of new adaptation and mitigation climate technologies, practices, and solutions; and best practices from individuals from around the world who have dedicated their efforts to addressing climate change. Membership expanded my network in climate, finance, government, business, and nonprofits; introduced me to new friends; and increased professional opportunities. I would unqualifiedly recommend joining.”

Cara Maesano
Scientist & Manager of Climate-Aligned Industries at RMI

"I switched from physics and academia into climate; a lot of the longer process stuff of networking, learning a new field, understanding who the major players are happened quickly because of Climate Vine. I can go on, but just to emphasize, this has probably been the single most helpful thing I've done to help switch over"

Mohamed ali Raddaoui
Activist, Lobbyist and International Negotiator

"Climate Vine has been an instrumental platform in my journey. The community has not only broadened my network but also provided me with invaluable resources and connections that have significantly accelerated my efforts. I highly recommend Climate Vine to anyone looking to make connections in the climate sector."

Sal Bednarz
Technical Leader & Organization Builder

"I knew that I wanted to work in climate tech and apply my skills and experience to create meaningful impact. I also knew that in order to do that, I needed to know more, and to strengthen my professional network. I found Climate Vine on the recommendation of someone I know and respect, and I decided to join. I found all I set out to through the Climate Vine network, and more that I never would have imagined. I found the position I was looking for, through Climate Vine, and am making myself available to help others find what they're looking for as well.”

Louise Parlons Bentata
CEO and Founder at Bluemethane

“The global community -- that's the magic. I and everyone in Climate Vine has personally and collectively benefited from key players across the climate space. In Climate Vine and the previous iteration, I have met a cofounder, advisors and investors in our start-up who continue to support us years later.”

Julia Sunderland
Climate Advisor

"Climate Vine is an energizing hub of diverse and entrepreneurial leaders who are all-in on climate. I love the serendipity and efficiency of Candice's targeted curated connections. I gain something from every interaction - sometimes it's a quick spark that helps unblock me or reframe my perspective, other times a deeper relationship or accountability buddy that I keep returning to. Every conversation is a 2-way street built on a culture of giving and sharing honestly. It's a dynamic program that brings people together in various ways, provides a drumbeat of regular programming, and continuously experiments on top."

Jamil Wyne
Co-founder of Riffle Ventures

"Joining Climate Vine was a no-brainer. I have consistently met inspiring, talented and generous folks who are committed to solving the climate challenge. No matter how well-networked you might be in this field, Climate Vine is a catalyst that can enhance your work in so many ways. Anyone hoping to accelerate their climate journey and augment their knowledge of key issues alongside a powerful community, look no further!"

Adil Jafry
General Partner at Ecosphere Ventures

"As a professional in venture capital, I am always seeking avenues to meet visionary individuals with ideas that have the potential to make a huge impact. I find Climate Vine’s programming, which intentionally fosters greater connectivity among professionals and experts from diverse backgrounds to be super helpful in my work. I have also found the sessions where experts in any given area describe the body of knowledge and the state of play in innovation very helpful in scoping technologies that may be ready for commercialization. Finally, I feel that because of Climate Vine everyone in the community is literally one-hop away from each other because of the systems and tools provided by Climate Vine."

Sumana Palle
Founder at Saltwater

“Climate Vine has been transformative for my work. I joined in the middle of a career pivot from tech to environment and human rights and meeting the thinkers, leaders, movers, and shakers in Climate Vine has fast tracked my learnings and growth. It has served as a spiritual incubator for ideas and projects before I take them out to the world and I have never met a higher caliber of more dedicated, empathetic, and smart people. Extremely grateful and can’t recommend enough!”

Matt Weiss
Product Builder & Advisor

“Climate Vine is an exceptional place to connect with deeply experienced people in the climate space. From working groups focused on fascinating topics to intimate conversations with climate leaders, I've found the community to be incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and uniquely focused on helping one another. If you're looking for a low pressure, high reciprocity, rewarding way to connect and collaborate with others in climate, Climate Vine is a great place to be.”

FAQ

What outcomes can I expect from Climate Vine?

Some of the (many!) possible outcomes in Climate Vine might include:

  • Building trusted relationships with climate-committed peers, potential co-founders, partners, customers, advisors and/or collaborators
  • Deepening your understanding of the climate solution landscape and where you fit in
  • Informing, elevating and broadening your climate organizing, activism and network
  • Publishing thought leadership, research or policy proposals
  • Taking the next step to commercialize a scientific innovation, find a new climate job or scale your organization
  • Raising investment funds or discovering new investment opportunities, including grants or non-dilutive financing
What is the expected time commitment of a Climate Vine Cohort?

Members report getting out of our ecosystem as much as they put in. We built Climate Vine to fold into time you’d spend on work and/or side projects. You can choose to engage in weekly expert deep dives, join meet ups, have curated 1-on-1 calls with other Members, and/or participate in Peer Groups.

Your availability will shift over time. There may be weeks when you find yourself spending 5-10 hours a week on Climate Vine and others when you simply check your DMs to make sure you stay on top of them.

Our minimum ask is that you regularly engage with the community platform, and engage and respond actively to curated connections and conversations with other Members!

Can I participate from anywhere in the world?

Climate change is a global issue with solutions needed at every level. As such, we encourage and accept Members from around the world. Given the global nature of this community, managing virtual events can be tricky. The majority of live remote sessions will be in the GMT-5 time zone, but recordings will be available to Members at any time.

What is the breakdown of remote versus IRL programming? And can I participate from anywhere in the world?

Climate Vine is a remote-first community with IRL meetups and programming surrounding larger climate events. This unlocks diversity, beyond geographical diversity, that is not often possible in fully local members’ communities. Climate Vine’s team brings years of experience to this space, having built successful remote-first climate communities since 2020 and worked with other ecosystem builders on the best tools and processes for online collaboration.

What is the price and scholarship process of an annual membership?

The 3 month cohort, leading into an annual Climate Vine Membership is $2,990 (or four installments of $750) for most members and $1,490 for those in academia, policy, and non-profits. When relevant, we help our accepted applicants work with employers to cover some or all of this membership fee. See below for a template email you can share with your company!

We encourage you to apply, regardless of ability to pay. To ensure that’s never a barrier to entry, we accept people before asking about their financial needs through our need-blind process.

*We especially welcome people in or working with emerging markets as well as activists to apply for these scholarships!

Subject: Request for Reimbursement for Climate Vine Membership

Hi [Manager's Name],

I'm excited to share that I’ve been accepted into Climate Vine, a community for climate-committed professionals, and I’d like to request reimbursement for the annual membership tuition as part of my L&D budget.

What’s Included in the Membership:

  • Strategic Learning and Problem-Solving: I’ll gain insights and frameworks directly applicable to our projects through Climate Vine’s Peer Groups and interactive Member-Led events.
  • Expert Network and Collaboration: Access to a diverse network will enhance our strategies with perspectives from various sectors, and I’ll also receive personalized weekly introductions to relevant peers in climate.
  • Flexible Learning: The platform’s virtual discussions allow me to learn without taking time off, and there's no need for travel. I’ll be able to access the breadth of community and knowledge I would from a larger conference, without the need for travel! Weekly expert deep dives will also feature leading voices in climate, with an opportunity to ask questions live and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Community and Networking: I’ll grow a trusted network of climate peers across the world, building valuable connections and staying updated on climate innovations.

I strongly believe the Climate Vine Membership will boost my ability to contribute to our company’s climate initiatives [share more here about how this connects to your day to day goals!].

I’m confident this membership will benefit both my professional development and provide our company with access to valuable knowledge and networks.

Thanks for considering my request! Looking forward to your thoughts.

What tips do you have from Members who have successfully gotten tuition covered by their work?
  • Understand Your Company’s Budget: Research your company’s professional development budget. Knowing the policy can strengthen your case.
  • Tap into Conference Budgets: Many companies allocate funds for employees to attend conferences. The ROI of Climate Vine compared to a conference is significantly higher due to its structured content, targeted networking, and specific outcomes.
  • Show Your Commitment: Have a clear plan for how you will dedicate time to and apply the learnings from Climate Vine to your work.
  • Position as an Investment: Present the program as an investment, not an expense. Even a slight improvement in your project's growth as a result of the program can justify the cost.
  • Highlight the Leaders: Explore the list of the leaders and experts involved in Climate Vine to emphasize the program’s credibility.
  • Understand and highlight the essential skills that your role demands, and include that in your request letter.
Can you support teams joining Climate Vine? How else can my organization partner with Climate Vine?

We’d be happy to chat with you about what it might look like to bring your team to Climate Vine! Please fill out this form or email us at admissions@climatevine.co.
